TrackMyWings Delay Predictions uses a machine learning model trained on millions of historical flights to analyse real-time signals and forecast whether your flight will be late, and by how much, long before the airline makes an official announcement.

Our model processes six categories of signals simultaneously: inbound aircraft position and delay status, airport congestion metrics (how many flights are queued for takeoff), real-time weather at the origin, en-route, and destination airports, historical delay patterns for this specific route and airline, time-of-day and seasonal factors, and where available, crew and aircraft maintenance data.

The result is a probabilistic prediction: '37-minute delay, 78% confidence.' This is not a guarantee — no model can predict a sudden engine issue discovered at pre-flight checks — but it's actionable intelligence that lets you make better decisions. For travelers in India, this feature is especially valuable. IndiGo, Air India, and other Indian carriers operate in an environment with significant delay variability: monsoon weather from June through September, winter fog at Delhi from December through January, and evening slot compression at major hubs. Our model is specifically trained on Indian airport data, not just US domestic flight patterns like most competing services.

Delay Predictions is a Pro feature because the underlying data feeds and compute required to run real-time ML inference are expensive. But even the free tier shows historical on-time performance for every route, giving you a baseline sense of delay risk when planning travel.
